Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you ask Castro Valley Epoxy Floors and Concrete to quote or perform. By using the site, requesting an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If you have signed a written contract with us for a specific job, that contract controls where it differs from these terms. Everything not covered in your contract falls back to what's written here.

What we do

We're a flooring contractor in Castro Valley, CA, and we install and repair concrete floor systems for homes and businesses in Castro Valley and the cities around it. That includes epoxy and polyaspartic coatings, polished and stained concrete, overlays, sealing and surface prep. The services and cities listed on our home page are a general description, not a promise that we can take every job in every location.

The exact scope of your job, including the floor system, the prep work and the areas covered, is what's written in your estimate or contract. You can read more about our crew and how we work before you decide.

Estimates and pricing

Our estimates are free and done in person, because we need to see the slab, measure it and check for cracks, moisture and old coatings before we can price the work honestly. An estimate is our best figure for the work it describes, and it stays good for the period stated on it.

Some conditions only show up once the floor is opened up, such as hidden moisture, failed patches or coatings that won't grind off as expected. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you what we found and agree on any change in price with you before we do the extra work.

Scheduling and cancellation

We'll set your start date with you when you accept the estimate. Weather, temperature and humidity affect how coatings and concrete products cure, so we may move a date to protect the finish, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

You'll need to clear the work area and give us access, power and water on the scheduled day. If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. Any deposit terms and any right to cancel that California law gives you will be written in your contract.

Payment

Your contract will state the total price, any deposit, when payments are due and the ways you can pay. We won't ask for payment that isn't spelled out there.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled. We'll talk with you first, because most billing questions are cleared up with a phone call.

Our guarantee and its limits

We stand behind our work and guarantee your satisfaction on every job. If something isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it and make it right where the problem is in our workmanship.

Concrete is a natural material, so we can't promise against things outside our control. That includes new cracks from settling or ground movement, moisture rising through the slab after we leave, color variation in stained or polished concrete, and damage from chemicals, heavy impact, misuse or skipping the care instructions we give you. Any written warranty for your job will be stated in your contract, and apart from that and what the law requires, we make no other warranties about the work or this website.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and insured, and we take responsibility for the work we do. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost business or the cost of staying elsewhere while a floor cures, unless the law says otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under California law that can't be waived.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and meant to help you understand flooring and concrete work. It isn't a quote and it isn't advice for your particular floor, which is why we look at every job in person.

The text and images on this site belong to Castro Valley Epoxy Floors and Concrete. You're welcome to share links to our pages, but please don't copy our content for commercial use without asking.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy with anything, call us first, because we'd much rather fix a problem than argue about it. Most issues are settled once we're both standing on the floor looking at it.

If we can't resolve it ourselves, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. If a dispute still goes forward, it will be handled in the state courts of California in the county where the work was done, unless your contract says otherwise.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes won't affect a contract you've already signed with us.
